The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging's Senior Spring Extravaganza on Thursday drew hundreds of senior citizens to the Richland County Fairgrounds. Reseigh's grand slam helps SVSU defeat Ashland, win first NCAA regional in school history
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. (WJRT) - Saginaw Valley State's Jeff Reseigh hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning to help propel the Cardinals to victory against Ashland, 11-7. With the win, the Cardinals advance to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time in school history. The win is the 41st of the season, also an SVSU record.
Commissioners take final step to temporarily cool the courthouse
A temporary fix for an air conditioning problem at the Richland County Courthouse/Administration Building should be completed within about the next 10 days to two weeks. County commissioners Thursday finalized and approved contracts to rent and install a temporary air conditioning chiller unit in a parking lot off Diamond Street until controls for the permanent rooftop unit can be replaced.

Ashland police, METRICH search Ray Avenue home, make arrest, find drugs and guns
One man was arrested and guns and suspected illegal drugs were seized Monday morning when a search warrant was executed at 512 Ray Ave., Ashland.
