The Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs after losing Game 5 to the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. This is the Lakers' second first-round exit since winning the NBA Championship in 2020.

Jamal Murray hit the game-winner with less than four seconds remaining to seal the victory for the Nuggets. The defending NBA champions will advance to the conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

LeBron James led the Lakers with 30 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists, and 4 steals.

During his postgame press conference, James was asked if he had considered his future. He noted that a decision had not been made and that his focus would be on his family.

“Nah, I just want to get home to the family, honestly," James said. "Start looking at the schedule, one of my boys is trying to decide if he’s gonna enter the draft or go back to school. I got another kid that’s playing AAU ball right now. My daughter’s playing volleyball and my wife is doing so many great things. So it’s about family right now, and then in a couple months, I gotta go to Vegas for training camp (for Team USA).”

James was also asked if this was his last game as a Laker, to which he declined to respond. In his 21 st NBA season, James averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game.
