Compared to the iconic mid-century modern aesthetic of the 1950s through the '70s, the whole "80's" era of architecture and design was somewhat more short-lived and a bit harder to define. Still, when you find a really great example of this style represented in a home, it's instantly iconic.

This incredible 1984 home in the Hollywood Hills, custom built for a then-prominent Hollywood producer, is about as distinctively 80's as it can get. It's like a real-life realization of Barbie 's "Mojo Dojo Casa House," by way of Miami Vice . Check it out:

This glamorous virtual tour comes from real estate agent Rob Kallick of the @takesunset luxury realty team in Los Angeles . This ultra-eighties Hollywood home was designed for writer and producer David Jacobs, who, as Kallick says, produced the hit series Dallas and Knotts Landing . It was the mid-80s, Jacobs had Dallas money to burn, and it shows.

I laugh about the house being so obviously dated, but honestly, I love it. Even if we look past the Barbie -pink exterior, this thing is a total time capsule , and it rocks. The geometric designs, the glass walls and pink marble in the bathroom, the South Florida -inspired color scheme and the neon... it's just perfect. The only thing that's missing is a Patrick Nagel print on the wall, and this house would be a veritable time machine!

This Totally '80s Home Is on the Market!

With a realtor walking around inside, that can only mean one thing: this baby is going on the market! Sure enough, Jacob's iconic pink home appeared on CaliforniaListings.com on April 24, with an asking price of $7 million .

7 mill might sound like a lot - and it is - but for the property, its legacy, and its location, it's honestly not a crazy asking price. The home sits in a gated compound on over an acre with "astonishing wrap-around views from Griffith Observatory to the ocean," according to CaliforniaListings.com. Above it all, the iconic Hollywood sign looms off in the distance, overlooking the Hills. Inside, it has four bedrooms and six bathrooms - and that doesn't even count the single-bed guest house on the property, nor the 500 sq. ft. studio apartment above the detached garage.

Interested? On the off chance this piece has found its way in front of a multi-millionaire with a love of '80s architecture, the listing is held by Peter Lavin and Alastair Duncan Beachwood Team of Links Real Estate in Los Angeles. I just know that there's someone out there who'll be willing to make this Mojo Dojo Casa House a Mojo Dojo Casa Home .
