USC quarterback Caleb Williams has been viewed as the potential No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft for at least the past two seasons, and may have had an argument for the spot when he debuted at Oklahoma a couple of seasons ago.

He went on to win a Heisman in his first year at USC in 2022, and led the Trojans to a Pac-12 title appearance the same year. This past season wasn't as successful for USC who ended up firing defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, but for Williams, he continued to show his arm strength, elusiveness, savvy, and unique free spirit en route to solidifying himself as the top quarterback.

The gunslinger who hails from Washington D.C. is known for his interest in fashion, and for painting his fingernails. His nails have often been a topic of discussion, and really caught people's attention when he had F--K Utah painted on them when they were taking on the Utes in the 2022 Pac-12 title game.

While it really shouldn't bother people that Williams paints his nails, or as seen when he was attending the USC Women's NCAA Tournament game, was sporting a pink phone case, it has been a major topic of discussion on social media. People are crawling from out of the woodwork to take shots at the quarterback, and former college football and NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III has had enough.

"Let Caleb Williams be Caleb Williams. Ain’t nothing wrong with him wearing pink fingernail polish and having a pink phone case. Quite frankly, if he goes to Chicago then Bears’ fans should be rocking whatever he is. Stop the hate and accept him for who he is," wrote the fellow former Heisman winner.

Williams has never been bothered by the criticisms, or at least has never shown it publicly, but clearly we as a society are still working on our ability to accept the interests of others.
