Western wildfire camera detection network
The Oregon Hazards Lab has developed and operates a high-speed camera network that gives fire managers new ways to detect and track wildfires. Cameras are installed atop high peaks or even high-rise buildings with 360-degree views of the surrounding area. Each camera can zoom, rotate, and tilt, allowing users to monitor the landscape, smokes, fire behavior, and weather conditions in real-time, or review later through time-lapse footage. The Oregon camera network is integrated with those operated by collaborators including the University of Nevada in Reno and the University of California at San Diego, with dozens of cameras in Oregon and thousands in the Western states.

Warmest Day, High Clouds, Pattern Change
Good Morning! Today, we start with the warmest morning temps, the least morning clouds, and our high pressure will be at its highest. All three of these lead to the warmest day of the week. Get ready for temps to hit 80 in the Valley with low 80's in the Basin. The Coast will start with just a small bit of marine layer today which will keep temps at an average in the low 60's. Through the morning, the skies will remain completely sunny. By the start of the afternoon, high clouds will begin to stream in and change the color of the sky slightly. This will be the first signal of our pattern shift starting tomorrow. The pattern shift will bring lowering temps and greater cloud cover, but for the remainder of the week and the start of next week, conditions will remain dry.
