Police: Man threatened woman for drugs
Mildred, Pa. — A 31-year-old man was charged after he threatened to punch a woman if she didn't give him drug money, police say. Anthony Fletcher of Mildred is facing a harassment charge for threats made to a 41-year-old Mildred woman, said Trp. Troy Hansen of state police at Laporte. The incident happened along Route 487 in Cherry Township on April 22, reports say.
Superior court orders new trial for Plymouth man
WILKES-BARRE — The Pennsylvania Superior Court on Thursday vacated the rape and physical assault convictions of Edwin Colon and ordered a new trial in Luzerne County Court. The appellate court’s ruling in a 10-page opinion followed the recommendation of President Judge Michael T. Vough that Colon, 33, should be awarded a new trial.
