More than 20,000 runners are set to hit the streets of Brooklyn on Sunday, April 28 for the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon. “NYCRUNS is proud to host the over 20,000 runners who will be basking in the glow of Brooklyn this Sunday,” said Steve Lastoe, founder and CEO of NYCRUNS, in a press release. “It’s always amazing to see how our home borough shines brightly when on center stage. We’re ready for a fun, safe, and inspiring day.”

MTA adding LIRR service for Islanders playoff games at UBS Arena
The MTA said it will be adding additional Long Island Rail Road service for the New York Islanders home playoff games at UBS Arena Thursday and Saturday. Going to the game, the LIRR will add the Elmont-UBS Arena stop to three trains (1584, 1586, 1676) that do not normally stop there. Twenty-nine other trains are already scheduled to stop at Elmont on their normal routes on the Ronkonkoma, Hempstead and Port Jefferson branches.
Binghamton Softball Sweeps Opening Double-Header Against Bryant
The Bearcats would pick up the sweep of the double-header against Bryant on Saturday to get two wins in the three game set against the Bulldogs. Binghamton would trail early going down 2-0 before Alex Musial would blast a two run homer to tie it up at two runs aside. The Bearcats would grab their first lead of the contest in the very same inning when Brianna Santos would get an RBI double to go up 3-2. Binghamton would go on to add two more runs in that inning courtesy of Ally L'Amoreaux and Shelby Carvalho. L'Amoreaux and Sarah Rende would cap it off in the bottom of the sixth inning with back to back home runs to take game one.
