UPDATE: Suspect taken to hospital after Davenport shooting

UPDATE: One person was taken to a hospital Monday after being shot by a police officer on the 3700 block of Rockingham Road, Davenport, according to a news release from the Davenport Police Department.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday, Davenport police and Scott County deputies responded to a report of an armed person. They saw other people with a suspect when they arrived, "heightening concerns for the safety of those involved," the release says.
During the investigation, a uniformed Davenport police officer shot at the armed suspect. Afterward, officers and deputies provided first aid and called for emergency medical services.
The injured person was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No officers were injured. "There is no ongoing threat to the general public," the release says.
The officer involved has been placed on Critical Incident Leave as part of department policy.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating the incident.
EARLIER: Our Quad Cities News is at the scene of an incident in Davenport on S. Fairmount, between Rockingham and Johnson. Davenport Police and the Scott County Sheriff's Office are on the scene with detectives and crime scene technicians.
