Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association
The March meeting of Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association was held at the Crawfordsville District Public Library on March 13. Vice president Steve Frees led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and Nancy Bowes gave the invocation including an Irish Blessing. A delicious meal of garlic chicken and rice, broccoli salad and lemon cake was served by Trish Schwabe.

Hundreds protest controversial conservative speaker at Purdue
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind (WISH) — Hundreds of protesters on Thursday evening jammed into the Purdue Memorial Union where Michael Knowles was giving a speech. Knowles is a commentator for the conservative website The Daily Wire. Knowles called for the “eradication of transgenderism” while speaking March 6 at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
4 injured in I-74 crash near Boone County line with Montgomery County
BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash near the Boone-Montgomery county line Tuesday afternoon, police said. Around 2:15 p.m., Boone County sheriff's deputies and Jamestown police officers responded to the area of the 47-mile marker on Interstate 74, near the Montgomery County line, for a report of a multi-car crash with a person trapped.

Fowler Mansion owes $20k in property taxes, says it will be forced to close
LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Fowler Mansion likely will close its doors to the public later this year because of property taxes. Matt Jonkman, board president for the 1852 Foundation, pledged to keep the doors open for the restaurant and event site through the end of its current reservations. After that, the mansion built by Moses and Eliza Fowler in 1852 will close to the public.

I totally agree that it would be nice to get a Aldi store in Crawfordsville. I like the Kroger store, but I do disagree that if you live on a phone and everything you do involves a phone you get digital prices on items that the regular customer does not get. Everyone who walks into the store should be given the same price on any item in the store.
