Liberty man arrested in neighboring Wayne County
A Liberty man was arrested in neighboring Wayne County on gun and drug charges on Sunday morning, according to the Monticello Police Department. Ronnie Weddle, age 64, was pulled over by Monticello police pulled over just off of KY-1275 North in the Cumberland Crossing area after running a stop sign and other traffic violations.
Russell Springs man arrested on gun, drug, and other charges
A Russell Springs man was arrested on a variety of charges following a traffic stop by Kentucky State Police late Sunday afternoon, according to jail records. Corey Sheppard, age 22, was arrested by Trooper Trevor Sharp on trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, first offense (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substance first degree, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance first offense, failure to produce an insurance card, failure to wear seat belts, improper display of registration plates, no registration plates, and no registration receipt.

Pulaski County Sheriff Warns Citizens Of New Phone Scam
Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones says his department is seeing a new phone scam in the area. He said there is currently a scammer posing as department officials that is threatening people with “some type of legal action” if they don’t pay the scammer. Deputies say if someone is calling you claiming they are an employee with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and they try to get you to pay money because you missed court or may be in legal trouble, you should hang up. Officials said that is not how the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office conducts business.

Somerset Couple Arrested During Drug, Firearms Bust
The Somerset Police Department says they received a tip about a man in possession of firearms and violating his probation. Probation and Parole officers along with Somerset PD went to Nijal Fitzpatrick’s home and conducted a search. They found alcohol, ammunition and firearm magazines. Officers also found fentanyl pills, cocaine, nearly 21 grams of marijuana, scales, other drug paraphernalia and over $2,000 in cash. Nijal Fitzpatrick and Shauntae Fitzpatrick were both arrested and charged with trafficking and several other offenses. Both were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
