Redding Costco center adding steakhouse. 2nd El Pollo Loco? | The Buzz

Arguably the busiest shopping center in Redding, River Crossing Marketplace, home to Costco, is going to be getting a lot busier. Texas Roadhouse, a steakhouse with locations across California, is coming to the shopping center. Ken Miller, of Northstate Commercial Partners, said the company has signed a ground lease for the vacant lot between Chick-fil-A and the Costco gas station on the east side of the shopping center. “The tenant is going to build it (the restaurant),” Miller said. He did not have a construction timeline or the expected opening date. Miller said the Texas Roadhouse in Redding will be about 8,000 square feet and it will be a sit-down restaurant. Texas Roadhouse only serves dinner on weekdays and is open for lunch on weekends, according to its website. Each restaurant has a butcher and baker. “The butchers, or Meat Cutters, hand-cut each and every steak we serve. Our Meat Cutters work in 34-degree coolers and cut an average of $1 million of meat a year per store,” Texas Roadhouse’s media fact sheet says . PG&E warns of new power shutoffs in 7 Northern CA counties. See areas at risk

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. is warning that more than 600 customers in seven Northern California counties could lose electricity beginning Friday evening as strong, dry winds raise wildfire concerns, less than a week after widespread shutoffs left tens of thousands without power. The potential public safety power shutoffs could affect 644 customers in portions of Butte, Lake, Napa, Shasta, Solano, Sonoma and Yolo counties, according to PG&E’s latest estimates. But the possible outages are narrowly targeted, with the utility’s maps showing small, scattered areas in the northern Sierra Nevada foothills and remote sections of the Coast Ranges. In Butte County, possible shutoffs are concentrated east of Paradise and Magalia, around the Concow area. In Shasta County, the areas under consideration follow portions of the Highway 299 corridor near Round Mountain and Montgomery Creek. Closer to Sacramento, only small pockets of western Yolo County and Solano County near the Napa County line are at risk. The maps do not show potential shutoffs in Sacramento, Woodland, Davis or West Sacramento. PG&E placed portions of all seven counties under a PSPS watch for Friday and Saturday, meaning outages were considered likely because of forecast high winds and dry conditions. The utility said
