BIG SPRING, TX — The Big Spring Police Department successfully apprehended Orlando Montanez, who was wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, causing serious bodily injury, a first-degree felony. The arrest followed a coordinated effort involving the Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division and Rangers Division, the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, and the Midland Police Department. City of Midland to install additional litter fence at Midland landfill to cut down on garbage spread
MIDLAND, Texas — The City of Midland is moving forward with an effort to keep garbage contained at its nearly 400-acre landfill. On Tuesday, the city approved a contract with the company Wind and Sun Protection, Inc. for the installation of "Litter Net Fencing." The project is set to cost nearly $128,000 and will come out of funds that are available in the Solid Waste Fund budget.
