WHEATON, Ill. - An Illinois woman is accused of drinking and driving and then fleeing from police with her 12-year-old daughter in the car on Monday. Brittany Getter, 33, of DeKalb, is charged with one count of aggravated fleeing and eluding and 17 misdemeanor and petty traffic offenses including DUI, endangering the health or life of a child, reckless driving and transportation or possession of open alcohol by a driver.

Mendota police nearly at full staff
The Mendota Police Department has only a vacancy left and Police Chief Greg Kellen is confident of filling it. Monday, Kellen advised the Mendota City Council a new police recruit has graduated from the academy and has begun 12 weeks of field training. While the department still needs another officer, Mendota reported 16 people (and counting) who’ve picked up applications for the next round of testing on June 8.
