Local Residents Involved in Albany Avenue Car Accident on December 9
A car accident took place in Orange City, IA, on Albany Avenue NE, on December 9. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident involved Brent Van Leeuwen, 35, of Orange City, and Jeffrey Bylsma, 57, of Hull, IA.

MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS THIS WEEK IN UNCONTROLLED INTERSECTIONS. There were three separate car accidents at two uncontrolled intersections this week in Le Mars. The first occurred Tuesday the 5th at the intersection of 7th Street SW and 4th Ave SW around noon. The second occurred on Thursday, a few blocks to the northeast at the intersection of 6th Street SW and 1st Ave SW around 3:30. And on Friday, there was a three-vehicle collision at the same intersection as the first crash, 7th Street SW and 4th Ave SW, which is just a block north of Le Mars Community High School.

Weekly Safety Report: Trespassing and Theft Incidents in Orange City, Iowa
Two incidents occurred in Orange City, Iowa this week resulting in arrests. The first incident involved a 21-year-old Sioux Center man who was arrested for trespassing and fourth-degree criminal mischief after breaking down a door at an apartment complex. The second incident involved a 43-year-old Orange City man who was arrested for fifth-degree theft after stealing items from a local store. Both incidents were reported to the Orange City Police Department.

Sioux Center Man Faces Several Charges After Traffic Stop
A Sioux Center man was arrested on felony OWI, assault, and other charges after a traffic stop in Sioux Center on Sunday. The incident started when an officer pulled over to follow 26-year-old Adelso Chavez Chavez. When the officer pulled over, Chavez Chavez made an illegal U-turn and took off at a high rate of speed. Chavez Chavez stopped at a home, ran inside, and attempted to barricade the door. The officer attempted to force the door, and a fight ensued.
Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public Help
On Monday, December 4, at 1:45 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a theft that occurred on a farm property, six miles west of Sioux Center, IA. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that multiple custom-made cattle gates were stolen from the property. The cattle gates are unique in the fact they only have four crossbars, compared to the typical 5-6 crossbars. This theft is believed to have occurred within the last two weeks prior to December 4.
