Laurel PD looking for one more suspect following high speed chase
LAUREL, Del. – Laurel Police Department is looking for one more suspect following a high-speed chase Saturday. It happened May 11, 2024, just after 2:30 P.M. An officer was traveling northbound on Sussex Highway in the area of Sycamore Road. The officer observed a gold Toyota 4-Runner driving erratically. While approaching the intersection of Sycamore Road, the 4-Runner nearly struck the vehicle in front of it and swerved into the right shoulder to pass other stopped traffic. While making the unsafe passing move, the 4-Runner struck a vehicle turning out of a driveway, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The driver of the second vehicle would later be found to have suffered a minor head injury as a result of the collision.

GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Delaware Office of Highway Safety (OHS) is partnering with the DMV to educate the public about the risks of heatstroke. The OHS will be holding public demonstrations with cars equipped with thermometers. These demonstrations will show how fast temperatures can rise inside of a car. OHS Child Passenger Safety Coordinator Aubrey Klick said that temperatures in your car will spike, regardless of whether you have your windows cracked.
