FAA awards $148.3M in airport infrastructure grants

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently awarded 73 airport-related infrastructure projects in 28 states and Guam $148.3 million in Airport Infrastructure Grants.

“The funding we announce today will help 70 airports complete vital infrastructure projects that improve safety and efficiency,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said. “This is another example of the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to modernizing America’s aviation system, keeping it safe and efficient for generations to come.”

Awardees include:

Orlando International was awarded $61.9 million to expand the existing Terminal C apron, adding an additional 138,481 square yards.

General Edward Lawrence Logan International in Boston was awarded $22.1 million to rehabilitate taxiway pavement and lighting systems, and enhances the Land and Hold Short Operations systems at four locations.

Dallas Love Field was awarded $13.6 million to construct a 36,000-square-foot aircraft rescue and fire fighting building.

Rhode Island T.F. Green International in Warwick was awarded $12 million to construct a 60,000-square-yard cargo apron to accommodate increased use of the aviation facilities.

Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport in Guam was awarded $3.2 million to rehabilitate the existing terminal building roof to include solar racking.

Arnold Palmer Regional in Latrobe, Pa, was awarded $3.2 million to expand the existing terminal building by 22,000 square feet and upgrading the existing building.
