Kate Martin is Trending After Las Vegas Aces Roster Cut Decision

With the No. 18 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, the Las Vegas Aces selected former Iowa star Kate Martin.

As a second-round draft pick, Martin is fighting for a final roster spot before the start of the Aces' regular season.

And as of Monday, that fight is still on.

Martin survived the second round of roster cuts, making her one of the final 13 remaining for Las Vegas.

"I'm not trying to prove anything, I'm trying to be myself...give my best effort every single rep," Martin said, via team insider Paloma Villicana.

Martin is trending on social media following this decision.

"Kate Martin is so close to nabbing that spot on the #lvaces let’s gooo Money Martin!!!" one fan wrote.

"Kate Martin being one of the 13 people left on the aces roster," another added.

"She’s just the best. Love how she emphasizes that being the best she can be is the way to do this. Cheers Kate!" another said.

Martin will look to continue to impress when the Aces face off against the Phoenix Mercury in a preseason matchup on Tuesday night.
