2 arrested for murder over a week after man's body found dumped in Assumption Parish bayou
THIBODAUX - Over a week after Troymichael Johnlouis was found dead in a bayou, two people have been arrested for his alleged murder. Johnlouis, 34, was first reported missing on Sept. 17. He had last been seen getting into a car with a woman the night before, and his remains were identified on Sept. 19 after they had been found in a bayou in Assumption Parish.

18-year-old booked with murder in Terrytown Waffle House shooting
Two and a half months after an Algiers man was gunned down in the parking lot of a Terrytown Waffle House, investigators have arrested a suspect in his death. Gregory Rose, 18, of Terrytown, was booked Tuesday with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, said Sgt. Brandon Veal, spokesperson for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

A Houma mother is spending restless nights haunted by the uncertainty of the events that claimed her daughter's life. Amber Pitre sat through the trial of Joey Clement, the drunk driver found guilty on two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of criminal negligence for the Nov. 20, 2021, deaths of Lily Dufrene, 19, Hali Coss, 18, and Michaila Bowling, 18. The three were students of Nicholls State University, and like Pitre's daughter, Kennedi Foret, 21, lost their lives in a car wreck during the 2021 school year.
70-Year-Old Man Killed in Bicycle Accident in Lafourche Parish
A bicycle accident in Lafourche Parish resulted in the death of a 70-year-old man, identified as Melvin Mead Jr. from Thibodaux. Reports confirm that he was hit by a Chevrolet Malibu near Lasseigne Road on Highway 308 early in the morning. Louisiana State Police noted Mead did not stop his bicycle while crossing the highway from a parking lot, resulting in a collision with the northbound vehicle.
