Lanett male struck by gunshot in 1200 block of First Street

On May 14 at approximately 1:39 p.m. ET, the Lanett Police and EMS were notified of a male victim in the 1200 block of 1 st Street who had sustained a gunshot wound to the back, according to a press release from Lanett PD.

Sergeant Reaves arrived in the area, and after a brief search, located the victim at the rear of a residence. The victim was treated at the scene, and a short time later, air lifted to a regional trauma center with what was later determined to be non-life threatening injuries. In the course of the investigation, a residence in the 1300 block of 1 st Street was discovered to have been struck by gunfire. None of the occupants of the home were injured.
