    Purple Alert issued for Duane Custer, last seen in Lakeland on Saturday

    A Florida Purple Alert, indicating a missing person, has been issued for Duane Custer, 47, of Lakeland.

    Custer is thought to be traveling in a 2020 white GMC Acadia with the Florida license tag BB56II, the Lakeland Police Department reported. He was last seen May 11 at 5:43 p.m. in the 3000 block of Covington Lane in Lakeland, LPD said.

    His vehicle was last seen on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Lowe's store at 2800 West Sand Lake Road in the Orlando area.

    Custer is listed as 5-foot-9 and weighs approximately 285 pounds, LPD said. He is bald and has brown eyes. He was last known to be wearing a black shirt, blacks shorts with white lines and green/black shoes.

    Florida’s Purple Alert is issued for a missing adult with a mental or cognitive disability (other than dementia), an intellectual disability or developmental disability, a brain injury or other physical, mental or emotional disabilities that are not related to substance abuse or a combination. The person’s disappearance is deemed to pose a credible threat of immediate danger or seriously bodily harm
