Civil rights attorney Michael Sussman meets with some of those arrested on May 2 at SUNY New Paltz

Charged with trespassing — as were most of those arrested when police officers dispersed the protestors — Vasiu-Rogers described the experience as “terrible, sad, haunting.” Many others did have legal representation. Civil rights attorney Michael Sussman gathered clients on the grass outside the justice center to explain the arraignment process and hold forth on the rights protected in the U.S. and state constitutions.
