New York Man Arrested in Ulster Trying to Steal from Bank
A man was caught by police leaving an Ulster County bank with cash that was fraudulently taken from an account. It was quite the scene outside of the Trustco Bank on Ulster Ave as Ulster County detectives along with special agents of Homeland Security arrested a Bronx man after he allegedly committed wire fraud and numerous bank scams while at the popular bank.
Struggling marijuana farms urge N.Y. to allow sales at farmers' markets
MILTON, N.Y. -- New York's Office of Cannabis Management wants to allow sales of marijuana products at farmers' markets and festivals, a stop-gap measure intended to help licensed growers who are struggling to make ends meet. TOWN OF ULSTER – A Bronx man has been arrested by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation involving wire fraud and bank scams. Just before 1 p.m. on May 24, sheriff’s detectives and special agents from the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations responded to Trustco Bank in the Town of Ulster after receiving information that Justice Amoh, 34, was at the bank withdrawing money from a fraudulent account linked to illegal wire fraud, money scams, and bank scams.

SAUGERTIES – A Port Jervis man who identified himself as the sergeant at arms for the Red Devils Motorcycle Club, was arrested in the Village of Saugerties after he was found in possession of an assault rifle without a serial number, two magazines loaded with 10 rounds each of 7.62 ammunition along with 120 additional rounds.
State legislature approves Ulster County’s request to increase bed tax
KINGSTON – The state legislature Thursday passed legislation requested by Ulster County permitting it to raise the occupancy tax on hotel, motel, and short-term rental stays from two percent to four percent. The bill, sponsored by State Senator Michelle Hinchey and Assembly Member Sarahana Shrestha, now awaits the governor’s signature.
Ulster County could double taxes for hotels, Airbnbs
KINGSTON — Ulster County could see its occupancy tax double if Gov. Kathy Hochul signs a bill allowing the increase.
