Child care provider appreciation night

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Friday is national childcare provider appreciation day and on Thursday night, The Parenting Place held a celebration honoring those providers, and bringing attention to the work they do.

The event included many festivities including a nacho bar, door prizes and live music.

Audra Larson is the Director of Early Care and Education at the Parenting Place. she explained why honoring our childcare providers is so important.

"People that work in the childcare field are some of the hardest working individuals that I know that I have ever met," said Larson.

"They're so essential to parents, to the community, to businesses and without them, we would not have a thriving economy."

Thursday was the 2nd annual Childcare Provider Appreciation Night hosted by the Parenting Place, over 150 childcare providers from nine different counties attended.
