FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Kincaid man Antoine Moore has been sentenced to prison on firearm possession charges.
According to Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., Prosecuting Attorney for Fayette County, the sentence stems from a February 21, 2023, traffic stop incident.
Officers with the Oak Hill Police Department reportedly conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Pea Ridge in theOak Hill area.
The occupants,l discover age within the vehicle are said to have engaged in suspicious behavior, leading to a search of the vehicle.
During the search, officers located a North American Arms .22 LR revolver which was found atop of a purse near Moore.
Other occupants inside the vehicle stated that the Moore was the owner of the weapon. Moore confirmed to law enforcement that, while a passenger in the vehicle, he had handled the weapon
Due to multiple felony drug convictions in the Fayette County area, Moore was prohibited from possessing a firearm at the time of the incident.
The Prosecutor’s Office reports that, on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, Antoine Moore, age 44 of Kincaid, WV, received sentencing in Fayette County Court .
A sentence of three years in prison was issued by Fayette County Chief Judge Paul M. Blake, Jr. for the felony offense of prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Moore offered a “guilty” plea to the offense on February 21, 2024. He will be required to serve a minimum of nine months in prison before potentially becoming eligible for parole.
The aforementioned crime was investigated by members of the Oak Hill Police Department . The case itself was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Sarah F. Smith.
