(Atlantic) The Atlantic softball team put it all together on Thursday night, resulting in a 13-1 win over Denison-Schleswig. Zoey Kirchhoff pitched a gem, allowing one run on six hits and retiring the final thirteen straight hitters to seal the deal for Atlantic. The sophomore pitcher struck out seven hitters with no walks, and the defense did not commit an error. The Trojans scored 13 runs on 13 hits.

Power Outage on the Eastern Edge of Atlantic
(Atlantic) Atlantic Municipal Utility crews are working on restoring power to a portion of the east side of Atlantic. The traffic lights at 7th, and Olive, and 7th, and Plum are not functioning. The Atlantic Police Department is directing traffic in those areas. There is no word on what caused the outage.
Harlan alum Sears named Big Ten Pitcher of the Year

Iowa couple’s wedding photo found 90 miles away after home destroyed by tornado
HARLAN, Iowa (KMTV) — After George and Julie Langenfeld lost their rural Harlan home in the tornadoes on April 26, their wedding photo popped up on a lost-and-found social media page. Someone found the wedding photo, which hung on a wall in their home, approximately 90 miles to the northeast near Fonda.
Waters and Juhl Fall Short in Both Tennis Matches at Boy’s State High School Tennis Tournament
(Atlantic) The Atlantic doubles team of Nolan Waters and Kinnick Juhl competed in the Class 1A State Doubles Team Tournament on Wednesday. The duo fell short in both of their matches. In the first round, Wesley Baber and Joseph Jordan of Boone topped the Atlantic duo 6-3, 6-1. Nile Rozenboom and Jordan Shaffer downed Juhl and Waters in the Consolation round 6-4, 6-2. The stormy weather delayed the start of the tournament from Tuesday to Wednesday.
