FEMA issues Individual Assistance Declaration for Bell County following severe storms
TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - The City of Temple announced that FEMA has issued an Individual Assistance Declaration for Bell County following severe weather that impacted the area. KWTX had a media opportunity with Bell County Judge David Blackburn who says there are two types of assistance from the federal government that the county would be eligible for. The individual assistance is the one that was just approved, there is also public assistance which the threshold hasn’t been met yet.

According to the Tax Appraisal District of Bell County, property owners who suffered physical damage from the tornadoes and windstorms on May 22 could qualify for relief on their 2024 property taxes through a temporary disaster exemption.

Belton cleanup and repair permitting clarified
Belton, Tx (FOX 44) – The City of Belton has issued a statement regarding what permitting might be required for residents doing cleanup or repair work following the storms. City officials say in order to speed up cleanup and restoration efforts, a temporary permitting process has been set up just for storm related projects.
