KILLEEN, Texas — A Killeen-based rescue is asking for the community's help to continue helping cats in the Central Texas area. Snip and Tip is an organization that aims to "transform the challenge of free-roaming cats from a reactive problem to a community-driven initiative", according to their mission statement. Snip and Tip conducts Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), public awareness campaigns and sterilization services to "those who need it most".

Pet rescued from house fire in Harker Heights
HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — A family pet was rescued by firefighters during a house fire on Monday, April 22, according to the Harker Heights Fire Department. Harker Heights FD said the fire happened along Delaware Drive around 3:34 p.m. When firefighters arrived they reportedly found a two-story, single-family home with "heavy smoke and heat throughout the entire occupancy".
