Varsity Volleyball Sweeps University
Tonight, your Belton Tigers tracked to University High School to compete against the Trojans. The Tigers took the match in three straight sets (25-10, 25-16, 25-11). The Tigers energy on and off the court was great tonight and it was good to see them having some fun during the match. They were very consistent in the first and third set. The Trojans started to play better defense in the second set which made our hitters have to work harder and they did. This was a team win tonight for our team.
JV Tigers Win Against Killeen
The JV Tigers faced the Killeen Kangaroos at home on Friday and won in two sets (25-15, 25-23). The girls played well in the first set but struggled to stay consistent in the second. There were some scrappy rallies that ended up playing out in the Tiger’s favor because of a lot of hustle on part of the girls. We are going into the second half of district with a record of 6-1. Our next match will be Tuesday 10/03 at University @5:30, be sure to come out and support the Tigers!
Freshman Red Volleyball Finishes First Half of District 7-0
Congratulations to Freshman Red Volleyball on their win over Killeen to continue their undefeated streak in district to 7-0. They won set one 25-3 and set two 25-6. It was an incredible night of aces and kills that limited Killeen to only 9 points in total on the night. Brysen Gott served an incredible 18 points in the first set with 7 aces! Ella Tucek led the team with 4 kills and Karington Kopriva led the team with 2 digs. Much of this game was controlled by serves and the team had a total of 16 aces over the two sets! Congratulations to Freshman Red on their win and come out and show support as they play at Waco University on Tuesday October 3rd at 5:30 pm.
Freshman Red Volleyball Helps in Program Sweep
Congratulations to Freshman Red Volleyball on their win over Waco University tonight to help the Belton Volleyball Program Sweep! They won set one 25-7 and set two 25-7. This win pushes Freshman Red to 8-0 in district. Amazing job tonight by Reagan Stuart getting 6 aces out of 18 aces for the team! The team also had 18 kills on the night with Ciaran Messermith leading the team with 6 kills. Tonight there was also great defense by Veronica House and Allie Goodnight. Overall it was an incredible team win tonight with many great balls. Come out and support Freshman Red in their next game at Ellison on Friday October 6th at 7:00 pm!
Varsity Volleyball Defeats Killeen
On Friday, September 29th, the Belton Tigers hosted Killeen High School. The Tigers defeated the Kangaroo in 3 straight sets (25-8, 25-8, 25-18). The Tigers were determined to finish the first round of District strong and were locked in the first and second set. In the third set, a few more errors made by the Tigers gave Killeen a bit more room to score points, but the Tigers finished the game strong and came out on top! The Tigers finish the first round of District 4-3 which leaves them in a three way tie for third place! We are excited to get the second round started and finish our season strong!
Killeen Kangaroos Suffer First Season Loss to Midlothian Panthers in Friday's Game
The Killeen Kangaroos, also known as the Roos, lost their first game of the season to the Midlothian Panthers. The final score was 56-34. This game took place at Leo Buckley Stadium on Friday. This was the Roos' first loss after four wins. Their current standing is 4-1 overall, and 2-1 in District 4-5A, Division 1. The Panthers, last year's District Champions, now stand at 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the district.
Lampasas tennis wins big over Copperas Cove
A 15-4 Lampasas team win was the outcome when the Badgers hosted Copperas Cove last Friday.
