The Austin community reels after the body of missing Bell County man and Uber driver, Ernest Anderson, was found dead in his vehicle on the east side of the city. Anderson, 39, was reported missing since April 11 when he was last spotted heading to pick up a fare near Riverside Drive, as per the Nolanville Police Department. KVUE reports that his sister has requested privacy for the family to mourn their loss, saying there was "no foul play" suspected at this time.

KILLEEN, Texas — A Killeen-based rescue is asking for the community's help to continue helping cats in the Central Texas area. Snip and Tip is an organization that aims to "transform the challenge of free-roaming cats from a reactive problem to a community-driven initiative", according to their mission statement. Snip and Tip conducts Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), public awareness campaigns and sterilization services to "those who need it most".
Stage 2 Drought Warning downgraded in many cities
CENTRAL TEXAS (FOX 44) – UPDATE: The Brazos River Authority (BRA) announced a downgrade of the drought status for several cities in Bell County and Coryell County. The BRA announced a downgrade of the drought status for the Lake Belton reservoir from Stage 2 – Drought Warning to Stage 1 – Drought Watch. This comes due to recent rainfall causing a rise of lake levels at Lake Belton. The downgrade allows contract holders accessing water from Belton Lake to move from a mandatory reduction of ten percent to a voluntary reduction of five percent of the water which would have been used in the absence of a drought declaration.

Both the City of Killeen and Harker Heights said the Brazos River Authority confirmed that Lake Belton's lake level rose above 6 feet and is anticipated to remain above that level for an extended period of time.
