Elite universities are supposed to be resilient and stalwart defenders of the truth. So, if Cornell is making decisions in a panic to avoid political backlash, what exactly makes it an “elite” university? Cornell University has announced that it is banning all fraternity parties and social events on campus for the rest of the year, […]

JASO | Trying to Screw Over the Patriarchy, Kotlikoff Screws Everyone
In between chants invoking items usually found in the catch-all liberation toolbox, it seems that University President Michael Kotlikoff, from his Herman Miller Eames lounger, somewhere in Day Hall, heard one more loudly than the rest. Palestinians, transgender students’ rights, the Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ and, of course, ‘Justice for Jane Doe,’ were...

'Do something greater.' Athens HS teen 3rd sibling to make Eagle Scout
Earning an Eagle Scout award is typically the pinnacle of a Scout's career, but for Holden McKeever, he was barely getting started. McKeever, from Bentley Creek in Bradford County and a senior at Athens Area High School, actually qualified for his Eagle rank three years ago when he was 14, but he didn't want recognition for it — at least not yet. Instead, McKeever wanted to earn as many merit badges as possible, and while he only needed 23 to earn his Eagle badge, he is currently at 141 out of 143 possible badges. "For me, it was something — I wanted to do something greater," said McKeever, now 17. "I still want to do something more. I didn't want that to be it." Some of McKeever's motivation might come from the fact that several other family members are Eagle Scouts — including his sister Abigail, who became the first girl from the Five Rivers Council to achieve that rank after the Boy Scouts of America (now known as Scouting America) started accepting girls as members. Local history A quick history of Miller's Pond, from early land grant to today But McKeever is also an overachiever in his own right,
