    Police investigating deadly Kansas City, Missouri crash on Wednesday

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a one-car crash that left one person dead and another seriously injured on Wednesday morning.

    According to police, accident investigators responded to the scene at around 6 a.m. on 55th Street and Swope Parkway in Kansas City where a Honda CRV was found crashed into a tree.

    KCPD said the crash occurred for ‘unknown reasons,’ and the three occupants in the Honda were not wearing seatbelts.

    One of the occupants was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and another occupant was reported to have died at a hospital from life-threatening injuries, police said.

    As for the third occupant, KCPD said they ran from the scene, southbound on Swope Parkway.

    Police are still looking for the third occupant, and investigations are underway.
