Chiefs first-round draft pick on display in the Pro Football Hall of Fame before playing in an NFL game

Some players go their whole NFL careers without ending up on display in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. For Kansas City Chiefs first-round draft pick Xavier Worthy, he won't even have to wait until he plays his first NFL game.

Worthy, of course, broke the 40-yard dash record previously held by WR John Ross (2017) at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.21s run. It cemented the No. 28 overall pick as the fastest player in NFL history. The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced that a pair of artifacts from his record-setting run are currently on display in Canton, Ohio after the historic performance.

Worthy's burnt orange track shoes, representing his University of Texas Longhorns, are on display, as is his combine track jersey.

The rookie even provided the Pro Football Hall of Fame with some comments on his historic run.

“I definitely knew I had a chance. I didn't know it was going to happen in reality,” he said in an interview. “I came in knowing I was going to run nothing slower than 4.25."

After his first attempt clocked in at 4.25, Worthy stepped up to attempt the 40-yard dash a second time because he knew a second try would result in a better time.

“When I was training, I always ran faster on my second 40,” Worthy said.
