The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety announced that 19-year-old Khymarus Jotiege Pratt, of Kalamazoo, was arrested without incident Friday, just hours after a warrant was signed.

Pratt was arraigned Monday, charged with open murder and felony firearm. He was also denied bond.

Late on March 23, KDPS officers were sent to the scene of a crash on Jackson Street near Portage Avenue. When they arrived, they found Farwana with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
