    Deputies hunt for shooter in Jurupa Valley

    The manhunt for an armed suspect who shot at a Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputy during a traffic stop continues Wednesday in Jurupa Valley.

    Special Enforcement Bureau personnel joined deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station in the search for the shooter, wanted for a "attempted homicide on a peace officer," according to CBS2.

    The shooting was reported around 7 p.m. Tuesday when the suspect shot at a deputy near Pats Ranch Road and 68th Street, CBS 2 reported.

    No deputies were wounded during the shooting and none of them returned fire.

    KABC 7 reported heavily armed teams of deputies Special Enforcement Bureau personnel and tactical vehicles, including Bearcats, scoured the area near a wooden area and near the Goose Creek Golf Club Course for several hours on Tuesday evening.

    The department suspended its search for the shooter around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday but the hunt is expected to resume Wednesday.
