EAST BEND — East Surry’s Kade Talton and Levi Watson highlighted the Foothills 2A Conference Tournament by repeating as Doubles Champions. Board opts for long-term lease buyout plan
Surry County officials decided this week that it would move to get out of its lease agreement for a number of county vehicles, but that they would take their time doing it. New cases of chronic wasting disease found in deer in Cumberland County
More than a dozen new cases of neurological disease have been detected in deer in Cumberland County since July, according to the state Wildlife Resources Commission. The commission reports that 13 new cases of chronic wasting disease have been detected in Cumberland, Surry, Stokes and Yadkin counties, bringing the total number of cases to 24 since the disease was first detected in Yadkin County in 2021.

A West Virginia woman who has been missing for more than three days, after last being seen in Pilot Mountain, has been found safe in a Virginia hotel, according to her daughter.
