    Johnstown man sentenced for trafficking fentanyl, other drugs

    JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Johnstown man has been sentenced in federal court after he was convicted of conspiring to distribute drugs.

    Dwight Logan, 44, was sentenced to 12 years in prison and four years of supervised release by United States Senior District Judge Kim R. Gibson. He was convicted of conspiring to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

    According to information presented to the Court, from around April 2019 to around July 2021, Logan conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, 50 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a quantity of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine base in the form commonly known as crack, and a quantity of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of heroin.

    Further, in and around July 2021, Logan possessed with the intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and a quantity of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine and methamphetamine. Logan was then intercepted on a federal wiretap getting drugs and then distributing them to others, according to the DOJ.

    United States Attorney Olshan commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Laurel Highlands Resident Agency and Homeland Security Investigations for the investigation that led to the successful prosecution of Logan.

    • Johnstown Police Department
    • Upper Yoder Township Police Department
    • Richland Police Department
    • Ferndale Police Department
    • Other local law enforcement agencies
