Memorial High School student earns perfect ACT score

Reese Voliva, a senior at Memorial High School, earned the highest possible ACT Composite score of 36. Voliva's achievement puts the student among about one-quarter of 1% of ACT test-takers who earn the top score, according to a community announcement. Among the U.S. high school graduating class of 2025, 2,958 of more than 1.38 million students who took the ACT earned a Composite score of 36. The ACT includes English, math and reading sections scored on a scale of 1 to 36. The Composite score is the average of those three section scores. Science and writing tests are optional. Their scores are reported separately and do not factor into the ACT Composite score. What a 36 ACT score represents “Earning a top score of 36 on the ACT is a significant accomplishment that signals a student’s readiness for the challenges ahead,” ACT CEO Steve Tapp said. “It opens doors to their future and is an achievement we’re proud to celebrate.” The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement exam measuring what students should have had the opportunity to learn in school.
