JAY COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana State Police detectives are investigating after an inmate at the Jay County Jail collapsed and died Monday morning. Around 7:15 a.m., staff at the jail saw the inmate, identified by state police as 33-year-old Kevin Tyler Whitted, of Muncie, fall forward in the padded cell he was being kept in, according to ISP.
