Man injured in a tree cutting incident has died, family needs financial help
A man who was very critically injured in a tree cutting accident last month has died, and the family of the man needs financial help. Carl Johnson died on April 11th at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont almost two weeks after the accident occurred on Farm to Market Road 254 near the Peachtree Community west of Jasper. He was flown directly from the scene of the accident to the hospital in Beaumont by helicopter.

Tense moments but no injuries as two accidents occur west of Jasper
There were some tense moments, but no injuries when two separate accidents occurred within minutes of each other on Highway 63, west of Jasper on Wednesday afternoon. Officers say the first accident occurred shortly after 4:00, when a vehicle which as headed west on 63, just past Campbell Hill, slowed to turn to the left on County Road 173, into the Cypress Hill Estates. A large highway safety barrier truck, which was also traveling west, apparently swerved to the right to avoid the turning vehicle and slid off the road, coming to stop just three feet from a large culvert and creek, which was estimated to be around 15 feet deep.
