New smoothie cafe opens first Alabama location in Montgomery
A new cafe has opened its doors in Montgomery, calling health nuts and those with a sweet tooth alike. Bora Bora Smoothie Cafe describes itself as a "casual eatery where comfort meets culinary creativity," but there's nothing casual about the monster of a menu the location offers. The restaurant, which opened on Oct. 15, serves smoothies, soft serve, milkshakes, fruit bowls, waffles, crepes, French toast, coffee, avocado toast and more. There are also several items that build on viral trends, such as the "lotus" flavors made from Biscoff cookies and cookie butter or the Dubai chocolate and pistachio pastries. The brand started in Michigan in 2024 and has since expanded to operating over 35 locations across the country. The Montgomery store is the brand's first location in Alabama. The nearest locations before the Montgomery store opened were in Harvey, Louisiana, Memphis, Tennessee, and Orlando, Florida; each of which are more than four hours away from Alabama's capital. The store is at 8007 Vaughn Road, and it's open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sarah Clifton covers business for the Montgomery Advertiser.
