No More Fees: Dog Tags Now Free for Seniors Over 70 and Service Dogs in Our Town
As of May 2023, senior citizens over 70 and service dogs will no longer be charged for their dog tags. If you are over 70 or have a service dog that you are trying to register for 2024, please contact the Town Clerk's office at 781-293-7211 or email amcettrick@townofpembrokemass.org to get your dog tags. Goldville house catches fire
A Goldville house caught fire Thursday afternoon but luckily no one was inside. Volunteer fire departments from New Site, Hackneyville and Daviston all responded to the scene alongside Alexander City Fire Department. Police from Alex City and New Site were also there with New Site’s Fire and Rescue team.

They serve delicious traditional Southern cuisine. Customers love the cafe's delicious food, like fried cheese nuggets and homemade cheesecakes. The food is authentic and high-quality.

Mon’Tia is a senior at Central High School – Coosa County with a 3.7 GPA. She is a member of the SGA, volleyball team and school cheerleader. AUM Grad Opens a Dance Studio
Raven Tolbert is a graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery. She grew up in Dadeville, Alabama. Raven obtained her Bachelors of Science in Entrepreneurship in Spring 2020. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. After attending AUM, she returned to her hometown and opened a dance studio called Mahogany Masterpiece. Tolbert achieved her goal of owning a dance studio with the skills and assets she received at AUM.
Chambers basketball gets promising start
The Chambers Academy Rebels kicked off basketball season recently with three of four teams getting an undefeated start. The JV Lady Rebels are currently 4-0 with wins over Springwood 30-22, Autauga 19-10, Trinity 29-3, and Autauga 33-17. One strength of the JV Lady Rebels is their ability to move the ball and spread out scoring. Ten players have already posted points to the board in just four games with Samatha Lovelace leading the way with 23 points so far this season. Aubie McManus has added 21 points while Trenise Tigner has scored 19 points respectively.
David Sturdivant promoted to Russell Lands president
For the first time in two decades, Russell Lands will have a new man at the helm, as David Sturdivant will officially take over as president effective Jan. 1. Having served previously as the chief financial officer and chief operating officer, Sturdivant will take over for Tom Lamberth, who has been the Russell Lands Inc. president since 2003.
