Caitlin Clark continues to shine with celebrity shoutouts

It's no secret that Caitlin Clark , a senior guard for the No. 1 seed Iowa Hawkeyes , draws in crowds.

In an exhibition game where the Hawkeyes played against the DePaul Blue Demons at Kinnick Stadium on Oct. 15, more than 55,000 fans trickled in to cheer them on.

As Clark and the Hawkeyes' popularity continued to increase, so did their ticket prices. For one game earlier this season, it would have cost $408 to see the Hawkeyes, with the top ticket going for $5,199 -- the most expensive women's basketball tickets of all time.

Clark accumulated a historic season as she looks ahead to the 2024 WNBA draft as the projected No. 1 pick after she broke the NCAA's all-time scoring record in both men's and women's basketball.

Clark's résumé and on-court performance caught the attention of celebrities and sports figures. Here's a look at the various shoutouts Clark received in March.

Tim McGraw

McGraw -- a three-time Grammy winner -- stopped by Des Moines, Iowa, as part of his Standing Room Only Tour on March 21.

McGraw sported a Clark jersey throughout the show while wearing a cowboy hat and jeans.

Alex Morgan

Ahead of the San Diego Wave FC home opener, Morgan showed off her Hawkeyes merchandise.

Morgan -- who won the ESPY award for Best Female Athlete in 2019 -- displayed Clark's No. 22 jersey as part of her pregame fit.

The Kittles

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and Claire Kittle made a surprise cameo Monday when the Hawkeyes played West Virginia in the round of 32, with George Kittle wearing his wife's No. 3 Iowa jersey.

It was a full-circle moment for the Kittles. George and Claire each played four years for the Hawkeyes' football and women's basketball teams, respectively.

After the game, the two took pictures with Clark and posted them on social media.
