Iowa Earns 5TH Big Ten Conference Baseball Tournament Championship Appearance
(Omaha) The Iowa Hawkeye Baseball team earned its’ fifth Big Ten Championship game appearance on Saturday, with a 5-0 win in the semi-finals over Michigan. The win pushes the Hawk’s record to (42-13), the most wins under Head Coach Rick Heller and the second most in school history. This was Iowa’s sixth shutout of the season, tied for second in the nation. Ty Langenberg tossed a seven-inning two-hitter and nine strike-outs.
Iowa City West maintains unbeaten streak en route to state
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa City West return to the class 4A state tournament after a stellar performance, defeating Dubuque Senior 9-3 in the substate 5 final. The Trojans won ten consecutive matches prior to their matchup with the Rams, and the team continued its success right after the kickoff. Iowa City West scored two goals in quick succession within the first five minutes, as the Trojans piled on four goals in a little over 20 minutes into the contest on their way to a comfortable 9-3 victory.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Ty Langenberg struck out nine batters as Iowa rolled past Michigan 5-0 to advance to the Big Ten baseball championship game on Saturday morning. Iowa took the lead in the third inning when Raider Tello was hit by an Eamon Horwedel pitch on a 2-2 count with the bases loaded. In the bottom of the sixth, Kyle Huckstorf tripled in another run. It was more than enough for Langenberg, who only gave up two hits in seven innings in a dominant performance. The Hawkeyes added three runs in the bottom of the seventh to salt away the win.
