The beef pasty recipe at this little bakery hasn’t changed since 1947. Same diced beef, same potatoes, same onions, and yes, the same rutabaga. That kind of loyalty to a recipe is rare. Marquette bakery hopping— A guide to sweet treats in the 906 area
When students explore the Marquette area, they will find many local restaurants, bakeries and shops full of goodies. As a student on a budget, I find it hard to figure out which restaurants and bakeries are worth visiting. I struggle to find menus online because they are often outdated or only show a preview of what they actually serve. So this week, I decided to travel around Marquette and grab a few selections of treats from well-known bakeries in town. As a student, I first wanted to be a critic for a day to see if the treats were worth it for others with a sweet tooth like mine, and second, if I would go again and try more off the menu. So, for this week, I judged the following well-known bakeries, including Blossom Bird Bubble Tea, Huron Mountain Bakery and The Peace Pie Company.
