Claycomb: Finally spring has hit, and so have the crappie
Finally! I got to go crappie fishing. Normally by now I’d have hit the crappie four to six times. It’s not that I’ve been setting around mowing the grass etc. but there’s just too many outdoor activities offered in the spring. We’re over blessed here. Speaking of, I need to run back up sometime and hit the mushrooms again…. Probably this week.

Music camp holding fundraiser, performer meet-and-greet as part of annual festival
POCATELLO — An annual local musical festival is adding another event to the calendar this year. Shady Grove Music Camp organizers will join some of the musicians scheduled to perform at the two-day event next Thursday for a fundraiser at Jim Dandy Brewing in Pocatello, according to a news release.
June concerts and movies at ISU
There is a new site for Idaho State University's Summer Concert series, beginning this week. Due to construction impeding access to the ISU Quad, the concerts will take place at Frazier Hall's lawn throughout the summer. John Rush headlines the concert this Thursday at 6 p.m. Rush takes listeners on a musical journey, singing and playing guitar, bass, harmonica, piano, saxophone, banjo, keyboard and percussion in a unique one-man show. Rush and his singer/songwriter style wow audiences with his guitar work, voice and lyrics, winning him Campus Entertainer of the Year and Campus Awards Musician of the Year. All are welcome to attend.
Local Methodist congregation seeks community support to repair church roof
POCATELLO — A Methodist congregation in the Gate City is seeking funds to replace the roof of their church building, which has stood for nearly seven decades. The Pocatello First United Methodist Church at 200 North 15th Avenue has started a fundraiser that will last for the entire summer to raise $360,000. So far, the congregation has raised nearly $172,000 to replace the degrading roof.

Motorcyclist injured in collision with car in north Pocatello
POCATELLO — A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital on Friday after a collision with a car on the city's north side. The crash occurred around 8 a.m. on Hiline Road near the Ridley's supermarket.
