Truck fire brings 465 to a standstill

INDIANAPOLIS — A semi-truck going up in flames has caused 465 northbound on the northeast side to come to a standstill.

Indiana State Police said the truck fire occurred at the 38.5 mile marker which is located near 56th Street.

Traffic is being diverted off Interstate 465.

Delays and backups are affecting both south and northbound lanes.

Delays and partial lane closures could last for up to an hour, INDOT said. Traffic has began moving past the crash scene in the far left lane.

The express lane is not blocked by the truck crash cleanup.

As of 6:40 p.m., an INDOT map showed traffic in the northbound and southbound lanes of 465 returning to normal levels after the truck fire was brought under control.
