- The following incidents were reported in the city of Independence.

Saturday, May 4

- An officer received information from Good Samaritans participating in a ditch clean-up of a license plate that was found at the intersection of County Road 90 and County Road 6. The officer arrived on scene and took possession of the license plate. The officer was able to find the plate belong to a business. The officer called and spoke to an employee who confirmed it was theirs and weren’t aware that it was missing. New plates were obtained.

Thursday, May 9

- An officer was dispatched to a traffic complaint where a black Audi was speeding and passing in a no passing zone at the intersection of County Road 11 and County Road 90. A license plate provided came back to a local residence. An officer went to the residence but did not locate the vehicle and it appeared that no one was home.
