    LifeSouth facing an emergency need for O-positive blood

    ALABAMA (WHNT) — LifeSouth says the organization is facing a shortage that is causing a critical need for O-positive blood.

    LifeSouth reached out to News 19 Thursday to let us know their blood centers are facing a critical need for O-positive blood.

    The organization said they have only 90 units of O-positive throughout their entire footprint which includes Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

    Several hospitals rely on LifeSouth to make sure they have blood available to help patients.
