Chargers Softball Falls to Allentown
SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School varsity softball team took on Allentown High School on Thursday in an out of conference game. Spotswood fell to Allentown 4-1. Gabrielle Hill and Hannah Graulich had the lone hits for the Chargers in the game. Graulich's single drove in Hill, who scored Spotswood's only run of the game. Ava Mormile took the loss on the mound for Spotswood. Mormile went the distance, pitching seven innings and giving up four runs on eight hits. The junior struck out nine. After flying high against Westampton Tech last Tuesday, Bordentown came back down to earth. The Bordentown Scotties lost 9-1 to the Notre Dame Irish on Friday. Bordentown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Notre Dame apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

It's almost time for postseason softball. The pairings for the state tournament are scheduled to be released by the NJSIAA on Monday and play is slated to begin on Wednesday. The following are the last Mean 15 rankings until the final edition is published with the season-ending content in June.
Projected seeds for the 2024 N.J. baseball state tournament
The 2024 New Jersey high school baseball state tournament will be officially seeded on Monday. The seeding, as it has in the past, will be based off power points. Under tournament regulations this year, the power point calculation will take a team’s 16 best power point games from the start of the season to the cutoff. Residual points earned from opponents will be calculated from an opponent’s first 16 games played.
