Roundtable discusses ways to fill Pennsylvania's thousands of teachers vacancies
GREENSBURG, Pa. (KDKA) -- Pennsylvania's teacher shortage is in the spotlight again as teacher turnover is now at an all-time high. Right now, around 8,500 qualified teachers are needed to fill current vacancies statewide. North East High School team wins state Envirothon, heads to international competition
A North East High School team is headed to the NCF-Envirothon international competition this summer after winning local and state titles. The five-member team won Envirothon competitions in Erie County and Pennsylvania in May to advance to the big event. A program of the National Conservation Foundation, the Envirothon is an international environmental and natural resource problem-solving competition. Envirothon programs are located in the United States, Canada, China and Singapore, according to the competition website.
Delta program to transition to two separate schools
STATE COLLEGE — Starting in the 2025-26 academic year, the State College Area School District’s Delta program will become its own separate middle and high school. The State College Area School Board unanimously voted for the development of the program into a middle and high school during a meeting on Monday, May 20.
